One Mother of a Blog Bounce!

It's turning into One Mother of a Blog Bounce this week as many of our authors are paying tribute to their moms and their support/influence on their writing.  Please join in and tell us all about your wonderful mother, grandmother, mother-figure or inspirational fictional mom.

How fun is this?? Our great Omnific authors telling us about their moms, or grandmothers, or sisters, or heck even their own kids! I'm so excited to check out all the author blogs and read about their memories.

Here at Omnific, I thought it would be fun to talk about a few of our favorite fictional moms, books or movies.

First and foremost, my favorite mom in a book is Molly Weasley from the Harry Potter series. I love, love, love her! I like to think that if I had SIX boys (and really Fred and George count as a few extra!) that I would have that great combination of strictness and sense of humor. Really, you have to be able to laugh at your life a little when you deal with all the crazy those boys throw at her!

In movie world, it's a tie for me on my favorite mom. I like both of these women for the same reason - they teach their children to be themselves and not let others decide who they should be. First, is Cher's Rusty Dennis in Mask. Yeah, she's rough and may not be the best role model, but she loved her son, and did everything that she could to help him and to make sure he didn't try to be someone he wasn't. I loved the way she stood up for him in an expletive laden tirade to the principal of his new school who wanted to put Rocky in Special Ed. Gotta love a protective mama bear!

My second favorite movie mom is Sandra Bullock in The Blindside. Again, a mama bear protecting her family gets me every time! The fact that her family is unconventional makes no difference and she's going to fight to make sure that her son gets what he needs and deserves. I hope that I have the bravery to stand up for my kids the way that she did!

So, those are just a few of my favorite moms...of course my mostest favoritest mom is my own!

We wish all the moms out there a very happy Mother's Day (maybe a nice quiet day of reading???)! Make sure to check out all of our authors on the blog bounce to see what they have to say about the important women in their lives...

And now let's get this Mother Bouncing!!

  1. All great moms, you mention here. Yep, Molly Weasley is probably my favorite fictional mom too. :)
